When Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash suited up for the Lakers’ first exhibition game of the season Monday night against the Denver Nuggets in San Diego, it was the first time the two had played together since March 30, 2013.

Bryant, 36, and Nash, 40, may have played the “old man game,” moving deliberately at times, but they were still pretty effective in the 98-95 win.

Bryant worked mostly out of the post, using pump fakes and his footwork to get his shot off.

He finished with 13 points and five assists, showing that he has an eye to find open teammates.

Nash, never one of the quickest point guards in the NBA, took his time while probing the defense.

At times, it looked as if Nash was moving in slow motion.

But he got into the lane twice for layups.

Nash finished with 11 points and five assists.

It was a good start for both Bryant and Nash.
