Tweet of the Day: “Already seeing insane “rumors” of players LAL is “possibly” interested in. Team has $80M+ of salary on books for next season. Reality!” -- ZachLowe_SI (Sports Illustrated’s Zach Lowe)

Rick Friedman Reader Comment of the Day: “This team wasn’t supposed to be together to begin with. They did the best they could with what they had, baggage and all. They can’t win it every year. The nucleus of this team won 2 titles and 3 Finals. LA tried to radically overhaul their team. They weren’t allowed to do so. In a strike-shortened season with a new coach (and a petulant heir apparent), getting beaten by a younger, hungrier team with a clear, cohesive identity was predictable. Kudos to OKC for showing the mettle of a contender and finishing strong. Time to reassess and reload . . . or rebuild. This team’s shelf life has expired. So don’t despair, and don’t feed haters. Or for that matter, neurotic trolls who don’t even realize their teams will be joining LA in the also-ran queue.”-- lakepeace
