Jon Jones being sought for questioning after hit-and-run
UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is being sought for questioning by the Albuquerque Police Department after a Sunday morning hit-and-run car accident in which a 20-year-old pregnant woman suffered injuries requiring hospitalization, according to news reports.
The UFC said late Sunday it is aware of the incident and is “gathering facts.”
Three years ago, Jones pleaded guilty in New York to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. In December, he tested postive for cocaine and still fought on Jan. 3. He later spent one night in a drug treatment facility.
The 27-year-old has a title defense scheduled May 23 in Las Vegas against Anthony Johnson.
