Roman Reigns suspended by WWE for wellness policy violation

Share

WWE announced on Tuesday that they have suspended one of their top stars, Roman Reigns, for 30 days for a wellness policy violation.

“I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy,” Reigns said. “No excuses. I own it.”

A WWE wellness violation is usually caused by performance-enhancing drug usage, but the exact reason for Reigns’ suspension has not been announced.

Reigns was the WWE world heavyweight champion until last Sunday’s “Money in the Bank” pay-per-view, when he lost the title to Seth Rollins. On the “Monday Night Raw” television show, Reigns was made a part of the next pay-per-view, “Battleground,” challenging for the title against Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

The 30-day suspension would end before “Battleground” on July 24, but there is no word on whether WWE plans to keep him in the main event of that show.
