Watch Katherine Webb, not AJ McCarron, steal the BCS spotlight

What better way to liven up a boring BCS title game than to have ESPN play-by-play man Brent Musburger, 73, become a dirty old man after spotting the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron in the stands.

That's what happened in the first quarter on Monday. With Alabama leading, 14-0, the ESPN cameras found McCarron's girlfriend, Katherine Webb, in the stands. Musburger was intrigued.

"You quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women," Musburger said. "What a beautiful woman."

"Wow!" analyst Kirk Herbstreit said.

"Whoa!" Musburger said. "If you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with Pop."

Meanwhile, most of America got a little grossed out.

Get your PC panties unwadded. Musburger merely said what most heterosexual males were thinking. Check that, he showed the dignity NOT to say what we were thinking, but rather compliment a beauty queen on her beauty. She didn't take offense, McCarron didn't take offense. Why should anyone else take offense?

Because in the bi-coastal-everybody's-a-victim media, you just can't pass up the opportunity to bash a guy who dares to utter a heterosexual thought.

ESPN is incredibly hypocritical to apologize on behalf of Musburger. It was their director who couldn't take the camera off her. College football telecasts routinely pan the crowd for beautiful coeds, unapologetically take upskirt shots of cheerleaders, and post supermodel types on the sidelines to ask stupid questions of the coach before halftime. And then cut away to sponsors like GoDaddy.com and Hooters.

Give me a break.

Brent Musburger should apologize to all football players who dont play Quarterback. A gross generalization to say 'You Quarterbacks get all the good looking women'. Did they compare her to the ND QB's girlfriend? I played Safety, you saying my girl isnt as hot as the QB's? Personally she's not my type, I go for the girls that play sports, not watch them, they got game. Bring back the Danish field hockey team, or the norwegian soccer players if you need to keep people interested Brent.

So an older man saying an obviously attractive young women is attractive makes him Dirty. If Betty White said Justin Beiber was attractive would you characterize her as a Dirty old woman. Not on your life and if you did you'd have hell to pay from the PC Police.
