Clippers worry about themselves, not Lakers

These days, the Clippers’ main focus is on themselves and what they want to accomplish.

They maintain that they aren’t looking at the Lakers and how that team has struggled.

The Clippers remember how the Lakers beat them in the season-opener when everyone had anointed them the best team in Los Angeles and one of the top teams in the league.

The Clippers are the top team in the Pacific Division, the division they won for the first time in franchise history last season.

The Clippers are 25-13, 10 games ahead of the 14-22 Lakers.

“You never want to concentrate too much on the positive or negative things about your opponent,” the Clippers’ Blake Griffin said. “For us, it’s about making sure we’re doing the right things, executing on the offensive end and the defensive end.

“That’s huge for us. We can’t get caught up on what’s going on across the way.”
