The Chicago Cubs haven’t been able to deliver a World Series win for their fans in over a century, but they can deliver something else they haven’t had for 100 years: a mascot.

The Cubs on Monday night unveiled their first official mascot: Clark the Bear.

“The Cubs are thrilled to welcome Clark as the team’s official mascot,” Cubs senior director of marketing Alison Miller said in a statement. “Clark is a young, friendly Cub who can’t wait to interact with our other young Cubs fans. He’ll be a welcoming presence for families at Wrigley Field and an excellent ambassador for the team in the community.”

The Cubs said that Clark will not be seen during games, but will greet fans as they enter Wrigley Field and help kids run the bases after the game. He also will appear at events as a roving ambassador.

The introduction of the mascot means there are only three MLB teams that do not have one: The Dodgers, Angels and New York Yankees.
