The Rams are two days away from selecting a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.

And Coach Jeff Fisher and General Manager Les Snead continue to be coy about whether they will choose California’s Jared Goff or North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz when the draft begins Thursday night in Chicago.

“We’re probably going to take an offensive player,” Fisher joked during a news conference Tuesday. “Beyond that, that’s about all we can say right now.”

Said Snead: “I think you’re on the right track.”

Asked if they had decided who would they would choose, Fisher said, “Maybe.”

Fisher said the player would not be informed until “just prior to putting the card in” with their official pick.

“There’s only a few things better in life than this phone call that will take place Thursday through Friday,” Fisher said. “It’s a great experience for these guys, and we do not want to deny our pick that opportunity to experience that.”
