Kings get their own movie premiere
What happens when a team that plays in Hollywood’s backyard wins the first Stanley Cup in franchise history? They get their own movie premiere, of course.
On Monday night, the premiere of the Kings’ official Stanley Cup DVD took place at Regal Cinemas in L.A. Live. It was a full red carpet affair, with several Kings in attendance, including Matt Greene and Jarret Stoll.
And although the movie probably won’t surpass “The Dark Knight Rises” at the box office, it will please and thrill Kings fans who have been waiting a long time for something like this. Not only will they get highlights of the Stanley Cup run, they also get an extended look at the locker room celebration after the victory, player interviews and many other never-before-seen scenes.
So if you are a Kings fan, you’ll love it. If you’re a New Jersey Devils fan, probably not as much.
By the way, if you want to get the DVD and have it autographed at the same time, there will be three signings this week. On Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m., Stoll will be signing copies at Fry’s in the City of Industry; On Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Greene will sign copies at Dick’s Sporting Goods in El Segundo; On Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Luc Robitaille will sign copies at Sports Chalet in Arcadia.
So take one last chance to relive the Stanley Cup title before the new season begins.
