Talk about changing on the fly ...

The Kings were forced to do some late scrambling for Sunday’s festivities, featuring an alumni contest, at Hockey Fest at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. A group of Russian players, of former NHLers, was to have played a Kings’ alumni team.

A Kings representative said Wednesday that they received notice that the Russian group could not make the game because of “unexpected travel issues.”

Replacing the Russian contingent will be a team drawing on players from Los Angeles City Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The Kings also said that those who bought tickets for the game against the Russian All-Star team would get a full refund or a partial refund in relation to the new price. Tickets were originally $150 and the revised price was $75.
