Defensive back C.J. Miller commits to USC’s 2017 recruiting class

C .J. Miller, a defensive back from McEachern High in Powder Springs, Ga., announced his commitment to USC Monday.

Miller is the ninth player to join USC’s 2017 recruiting class. He is the second defensive back and the sixth player from outside of California.

“I want to thank god for the opportunity and all the people that helped me get to this point,” Miller wrote on Twitter.

USC’s offer came five days before Miller made his commitment.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Miller also had offers from Auburn, Kennesaw State, Memphis, Minnesota, South Alabama and Youngstown State, among others.

USC has commitments from: offensive linemen Andrew Vorhees from Kingsburg and Brett Neilon from Santa Margarita; receivers Marlon Williams from McGill-Toolen in Mobile, Ala. and Randal Grimes from Desert Pines in Las Vegas; running back Stephen Carr from Fontana Summit; linebackers Daniel Green from Madison in Portland, Ore., and Juliano Falaniko from Leone in Pago Pago, American Samoa; defensive back Bubba Bolden from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.

Recruits can sign a letter of intent on Feb. 1.
