As expected, previously No. 16 USC’s 38-34 defeat by Arizona State dropped the Trojans out of the Associated Press top 25 media poll on Sunday.

Meantime, Arizona -- the Trojans’ next opponent – went from unranked to No. 10.

The Wildcats are 5-0 after upsetting previously second-ranked Oregon Oct. 2 at Eugene, Ore.

The last time USC traveled to Tucson, it did not go well for the Trojans.

Despite a record-setting performance by receiver Marqise Lee, the Trojans lost, 39-36.

The defeat started a downward spiral for a team that opened the season ranked No. 1. The Trojans lost five of their last six games, including a Sun Bowl defeat by Georgia Tech.
