Girls’ basketball: Eagle Rock’s Judith Espinoza loves animals and basketball

Share

Eagle Rock’s Judith Espinoza, the two-time Northern League player of the year in girls’ basketball (she’s expected to become the three-time winner), has four dogs and two guinea pigs to take care of at home. She wants to become a veterinarian.

She’s also trying to lead Eagle Rock to the City Section Division III championship. The team is seeded No. 2 behind Garfield.

Eagle Rock Coach Mark Kramer has never had a guard quite like Espinoza. In four seasons, she has scored more than 2,100 points, contributed more than 500 assists and made more than 500 steals.

She’s also led Eagle Rock to three Northern League championships and four 20-win seasons.

As Kramer says, “You can describe her in many ways but winner is at the top for me.”
