Joliet will not get new immigration detention center

Joliet is no longer in the running for a privately-run immigration detention center, the city manager said at a standing-room only meeting Monday night. "If ICE builds in the Chicago area CCA has determined they would not build in Joliet," Joliet City Manager Tom Thanas said at Monday's pre-council meeting of the city council.
