The Toronto Blue Jays on Monday put All-Star first baseman Edwin Encarnacion on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right quadriceps. Encarnacion ranks among the major league leaders with 26 home runs and 70 runs batted in. He was selected for the American League All-Star team but won't be able to play in the game July 15 at Minnesota. Encarnacion was injured while running out a double-play relay Saturday in Oakland.
