Texas first baseman Prince Fielder sat out Saturday's game against Toronto and will also miss Sunday's game because of a stiff neck, the Rangers said, ending his consecutive-games streak at 547.
General Manager Jon Daniels said he hopes Fielder, who had a pain-killing injection Saturday, can play Tuesday at home against Seattle.
Fielder has been playing through the injury for the last few weeks, but the team decided this would be the best route under the recommendation of back specialist Drew Dossett.
