The L.A. Kings' search for a backup goalie ended before lunch on the opening day of free agency as they signed Jhonas Enroth to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million.
They had been looking to fill the spot since trading Martin Jones, who had been the backup to Kings starter Jonathan Quick, to the Boston Bruins on Friday. Jones has since been moved to the San Jose Sharks.
Their first target on Wednesday was Thomas Greiss, but Greiss quickly signed a two-year deal with the New York Islanders, forcing the Kings to look elsewhere.
