Blutreich Tosses Discus 210-8 to Break Record
Brian Blutreich of Capistrano Valley tossed the discus 210 feet 8 inches to better the all-time California high school record Thursday in a dual meet against Mission Viejo at Capistrano Valley High School.
The old mark of 209-6 was set by Atwater’s Dave Porath in 1978. Only Clint Johnson of Shawnee Mission South in Overland Park, Kan., with an effort of 213-6 in 1980, has thrown farther while in high school.
