Officer Accused in Molestation
A veteran Los Angeles police officer has been arrested and turned over to Ventura County sheriff’s detectives on suspicion of molesting a Camarillo girl, police said today. Stanley E. Parker, 39, a 17-year police veteran assigned to the West Valley Division community services section, was arrested at the Reseda station Thursday, said Cmdr. William Booth, spokesman for the department.
Lt. Larry Weimer, head of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department major crimes detail, said Parker was booked at the Ventura County Jail and released on $10,000 bail. Weimer declined to identify the alleged victim other than to describe her as a girl in her early teens. He said the alleged incidents had occurred “over a period of years” while Parker, a Camarillo resident, was off-duty.
