Tom Smythe highlighted a four-run seventh inning with a three-run home run Friday to lead Ocean View High School to a 6-5, come-from-behind victory over Fountain Valley in a Sunset League game played at the Barons’ field.

The Seahawks trailed, 5-2, entering the seventh and were up against Fountain Valley ace Bob Sharpnack, who had relieved Don Snowden in the sixth inning. But Blane DeBrouwer singled, John Savidan doubled and David Tinkle singled to score one run off Sharpnack.

One out later, Smythe followed with his home run to left-center field to put Ocean View ahead. The Seahawks didn’t get to Snowden until the sixth inning when they scored their first two runs.

The Barons scored once on an error in the second inning, and Sam August gave Fountain Valley a 4-0 lead with a three-run home run in the third. The Barons scored their final run on the walk in the sixth.
