A federal judge refused to reduce a 60-day sentence imposed on Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt for illegally wearing a Purple Heart medal during a Los Angeles court proceeding. But U.S. District Judge Consuelo B. Marshall granted Flynt a stay until June 3, pending the outcome of an appeal on Flynt’s separate conviction for swearing at Chief U.S. District Judge Manuel Real. She indicated that if the appeal is successful, Flynt will be spared from serving the term.
