The Region : I Do, the Groom Pleaded

Share

The bride wore blue, the groom, prison khaki, and it could be 40 years before they spend their first night together. Shortly after pleading guilty to two counts of bank robbery, Mark Richard Matola, 29, of Santa Monica admitted something else--that he would love and honor Judith Ann Langer, 31, of Bel-Air. The wedding ceremony in Los Angeles was presided over by U.S. District Judge A. Andrew Hauk, who earlier took Matola’s plea on the bank robbery charges. Matola faces a maximum prison sentence of 40 years when he returns for sentencing Nov. 18. Outside the courtroom, Langer admitted that she and her new husband can do little more than hold hands and kiss when they visit at Terminal Island Federal Prison.
