Area College Basketball : Cypress Beats Grossmont for Fifth Straight
Cypress College won its fifth-straight game with a 78-62 victory over Grossmont Wednesday night in the opening round of the Riverside Holiday Tournament at Riverside City College.
Cypress (6-3) led by seven at the half and pulled out to a 15-point lead early in the second half and was never really challenged. Greg Marusich led the Chargers with 19 points on 8 of 8 shooting and had five assists and Paul Horn added 17 points.
Shaun Manning led the Griffins with 14 points.

Palomar 66, Orange Coast College 53--Forward Derwin Wesley scored 17 points to lead the Comets to the victory. Joe Seager, the Pirates’ 6-foot 10-inch center, led Orange Coast (4-5) with 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Palomar improved its record to 4-6 with the win.
