Driver Killed: A motorist speeding along a street Wednesday night was killed when his pickup went out of control, hitting a parked vehicle and a utility pole, a police spokesman said Thursday. The driver, who was not identified pending notification of next of kin, was driving eastbound in the 2000 block of West Lincoln Avenue at 9 p.m. when the accident occurred, Sgt. Michael Gray said. The man was flown by helicopter to UCI Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:48 p.m.
