Truck Collision in Valencia Snarls Freeway
Two big-rig trucks collided on the Golden State Freeway in Valencia Wednesday night, injuring the driver of one truck, blocking two lanes and backing up freeway traffic, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred in the freeway’s southbound lanes south of Magic Mountain Parkway at 7:10 p.m., Officer Joe Rojas said. One truck was rear-ended by another, severely damaging the truck in the rear and sending its driver to the hospital, he said.
The driver, whose identity was not divulged, was in serious condition at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
