Four former Southern Methodist University football players are cooperating in an FBI investigation into alleged threats of violence against college players by two player agents, Newsday reported. Jeff Atkins, Jerry Ball, Terence Mann and Ron Morris have been questioned by the FBI about the activities of agents Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom of New York.

Ball told Newsday that Morris claimed that Bloom had threatened to break his hands because Morris was switching to another agent. The investigation is centered on Morris’ complaint against Bloom.

Walters and his firm, World Sports and Entertainment Inc., have filed lawsuits against top college athletes, charging breach of contract. Legal documents indicate that players might have violated NCAA rules by accepting money from Walters while they were still eligible to play.
