P.V. Estates : Police Study Funded
The City Council Tuesday authorized spending $4,800 to evaluate candidates within the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department to replace Police Chief Monte Newman, who is retiring in September. For a $4,000 fee, P.M.W. Associates of San Clemente will evaluate all police candidates with a rank of sergeant or above in the department.
The council budgeted an additional $800 for expenses.
The evaluation begins this week and the council is expected to select a new chief by late August.
