Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton, teams that have taken divergent paths in the first two weeks of the season, meet tonight at 7 in Santa Ana Stadium in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. opener for both.

Long Beach (2-0) has beaten two teams from the Big Sky Conference--Montana State and Weber State-- and has outscored its opponents, 81-22.

Fullerton (0-2) has played Hawaii and fourth-ranked Louisiana State, and has been outscored, 100-12. The Titans have not scored a touchdown.

“They’re on a roll; we’re not on a roll,” Fullerton Coach Gene Murphy said. “We just have to try to change the momentum.”

Fullerton’s home opener, originally scheduled for 1 p.m., was moved after a swap meet operator who contracts with the City of Santa Ana for use of the stadium obtained a court order upholding his right to hold the afternoon meet.
