The Nevada Las Vegas soccer team was removed from the NCAA Championships for using an ineligible player in its first-round victory over the University of San Francisco last week, the NCAA announced in Mission, Kan.
The NCAA said the elimination of UNLV from championship play gives its scheduled second-round opponent, UCLA, a bye and a place in the quarterfinals.
