23 Arrested as 3 Raids Crack Big Drug Ring

A major drug ring was broken up by Anaheim police Saturday as they arrested 22 adults and one juvenile and confiscated 70 pounds of methamphetamines with a reported street value of $5 million during raids in three Orange County cities.

The seven-week investigation was conducted by Anaheim police in conjunction with officers from the California Department of Justice, the California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement and the Fullerton Police Department.

In Anaheim, seven suspects were arrested during a raid on three apartments in a complex at 2611 E. Park Lane, police said. The suspects face charges ranging from possessing methamphetamines with intent to sell to having outstanding arrest warrants.

In Orange, nine suspects were arrested at 263 and 265 N. Holly St., where a methamphetamine laboratory producing about 30 pounds of the drug was operating, police said. The suspects were charged with manufacturing methamphetamines and possessing marijuana with intent to sell.

In Placentia, seven suspects were arrested at 809 N. Lakeview Ave., where police said they found lab equipment and enough chemicals to produce 40 pounds of methamphetamines. The suspects were charged with manufacturing methamphetamines and possessing marijuana with intent to sell.

The methamphetamines confiscated during the three raids had a street value of about $5 million, police said. About 10,000 was also seized, police said.

They said the drug ring began operating early this year and could produce 30 pounds of methamphetamines a week with a street value of about $2 million.

The juvenile suspect was placed in Orange County Juvenile Hall, and the 22 adults were booked into the Orange County and Anaheim city jails, police said.

Marc John Susman, 37, of 157 N. Citrus St., Orange, was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, police said, and bail was set at $25,000 for each of the other 21 adults, whose names were not available late Saturday.
