Monterey Park : Voters Urged to Register
City officials are urging voters to register for the April 12 election of two City Council members, the city clerk and the city treasurer.
March 14 is the last day to register. Acting City Clerk Warren K. Funk said 37% of the city’s 62,800 residents have registered. He encouraged unregistered voters to fill out the necessary forms, which are available at City Hall, three fire stations, the city library, the Langley Center and the Chamber of Commerce.
The city clerk’s office will provide callers with a list of deputy registrars, some of whom can provide Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Japanese translations.
To vote, a resident must be 18 years or older and a U. S. citizen by the time of the election.
