Never Cee Miss Wins Hollywood Feature by Head
Never Cee Miss used a strong finish to win Wednesday’s $26,000 feature race at Hollywood Park by a head over Humasong before a crowd of 11,796.
Never Cee Miss, ridden by Fernando Valenzuela, and carrying 116 pounds, covered 7 furlongs in 1:22 4/5 and paid $9, $4 and $5. The victory was worth $14,300, raising the 4-year-old filly’s earnings to $39,458.
Humasong, ridden by Gary Stevens and also carrying 116, finished 3 lengths in front of Floral Magic and returned $6.40 and $6.40.
Floral Magic, with 119 pounds and ridden by Patrick Valenzuela, was 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Friendly Appeal and paid $6.60.
Following Friendly Appeal across the finish line in the race for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, were 7-10 favorite Nikishka and Icy Run. Bolger’s Spring was scratched.
