Countywide : Foundation Opens $100,000 Fund Drive
The Senior Resources Foundation next week will begin a yearlong effort to raise $100,000 to benefit senior citizen programs in Orange County.
James Straw, co-chairman of the foundation, and Peggy Weatherspoon, director of the Area Agency on Aging, will begin the effort Monday with 7,000 letters addressed to individuals throughout the county asking them to participate in the fund drive.
Straw said the project is important because programs for senior citizens have not received an increase in government funding in 10 years.
