The Fiesta Bowl plans to invite fifth-ranked Florida State and No. 6 Nebraska to play in its Jan. 1 game at Tempe, Ariz., for the second time in three years, according to a published report.
The Arizona Republic, in today’s editions, said the Fiesta Bowl will ask the NCAA for permission to offer a bid to Nebraska (9-1) after the Cornhuskers’ season-ending game Saturday in Lincoln against Oklahoma.
Florida State (7-2) plays Memphis State on Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., before ending its regular season Dec. 2 against Florida.
