This year’s field spotlights the best older quarter horses in the nation, headed by Dash For Speed, the mare who recently set a 400-yard track record at Los Alamitos.

Facing the speedy mare are Dashing Val, winner of the Go Man Go, Shue Fly and Kaweah Bar Handicaps; Ourautograph, winner of four stakes this season at Los Al; Remington Park Championship winner Tee Roy Reb; Vessels Maturity winner Jazzing Hi; Heisajoy, winner of the Chicado V and Double Bid Handicaps; Barbs Bounce, a winner of three stakes this year; Anne Burnett runner-up Lil Bit Rusty; Passem Dirty, and Wicked Dash.

Dash For Speed is the favorite to win the Los Alamitos Championship, a key steppingstone to the world champion title.
