Felony Charges Filed in Attack at Raiders Game
Felony assault and battery charges were filed Wednesday against a Los Angeles Raiders fan who allegedly attacked and seriously injured a cheering Pittsburgh Steelers fan during a game between the two teams at the Coliseum last month.
Shane C. Geringer, 19, of Agoura Hills is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on one count each of assault with a deadly weapon and battery with serious bodily injury. Each charge carries a maximum four-year prison term upon conviction.
Geringer, who is free on $30,000 bail, allegedly socked Paul Albrecht, 35, of Tucson, in the jaw, knocking him down in a concrete aisle, then continued to hit and kick him until he was pulled off. Albrecht was hospitalized with a broken jaw, head and other injuries, but has been released and returned to Tucson.
