Dressed in a flowing black robe trimmed with tiny Christmas lights and wearing a skeleton mask, Raider fan Chuck Albino of Sherman Oaks showed up at the team’s El Segundo training complex Friday to welcome tailback Bo Jackson.

Walking on stilts that allowed him to peer over a fence and view the closed practice, Albino was carrying a sign that said: “Bones Knows Football.”

“I’m the Electric Raider because I have 100 lights and I’m electrifying,” Albino said, adding that he hoped to become the team mascot and meet Jackson.

Alas, Jackson was nowhere to be found.

Will Jackson arrive today?

“It’s a possibility,” Coach Art Shell said. “The weather is clearing up so they may allow his rocket to land.”

Quarterback Jay Schroeder is the highest-rated passer in the AFC with a 91.5 rating. He ranks just ahead of Boomer Esiason of the Cincinnati Bengals at 88.7.

Raider receiver Mervyn Fernandez leads the AFC in reception yardage with 23 catches for 451 yards.

The Raider defense ranks second in the AFC behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Raider offense is ninth.

Defensive end Howie Long, who suffered a broken foot in a game at Seattle on Sept. 16, has resumed running. Long, who was supposed to be out for six weeks, is eager to return. Although he is not due back until Nov. 4 for a game at Kansas City, he would like to play sooner.

Offensive tackle Bruce Wilkerson, who had hoped to resume practice this week, will be kept out a little longer to allow his injured knee to heal.
