High Court Asked to Delay Hearing in Menendez Case

Share

Prosecutors on Monday asked the California Supreme Court to indefinitely delay a preliminary hearing for the Menendez brothers, who are accused of murdering their multimillionaire Beverly Hills parents.

In a 12-page statement, prosecutors claimed that Lyle Menendez, 23, and his brother, Erik, 20, reneged on an agreement to put off the hearing until the Supreme Court decides whether alleged taped confessions can be used as evidence against them. Earlier this month, the brothers insisted on their constitutional right to a speedy hearing.
