A lawsuit by former Dallas Maverick Coach John MacLeod that claims the team promised him a percentage of the profits from the past two seasons is “without merit,” team officials said. The breach-of-contract suit was filed in state district court in Dallas this week. Doug Adkins, the team’s vice president-counsel, said the Mavericks will file a reply before Aug. 20.
