San Dimas : Senior Center Under Way
The city’s new $2.48-million senior citizen center will open in about nine months and replace the existing one in the old Santa Fe Depot on Bonita and Monte Vista avenues.
The city bought the building next to City Hall from the county for $1.38 million; costs to rehabilitate the structure and build an adjoining room are estimated at more than $1 million.
Last week, construction began on the 8,000-square-foot building, which will house offices and classrooms. An old garage adjoining the structure will be torn down and replaced with a 4,000-square-foot multipurpose room.
