Stern Comments: After talking about an impending film deal on his KLSX radio show for several months, shock jock Howard Stern announced on Friday’s “Tonight Show” that he has entered into a deal with New Line Cinema to star in his first movie. Stern, who celebrated his one-year anniversary on the L.A. airwaves Saturday, will supervise the writing of the film, which will be produced by David Permut and is scheduled to open next summer. In his typical outspoken fashion, Stern also shook up host Jay Leno by repeatedly knocking former “Tonight Show” co-stars Doc Severinsen and Ed MacMahon, as well as late-night talk-show host Arsenio Hall. In spite of the crowd’s cheers, Leno refused to be egged into the name-calling, diving under his desk in horror as Stern began his tirade.
