RAMONA : Home Destroyed in $260,000 Blaze
A Ramona family escaped from their burning house near Ramona High School early Thursday morning, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
James Edward Barrett, 48, woke his wife and son about 2:45 a.m. when he discovered the fire, officials said. The family escaped the house on Hanson Lane without injury, authorities said.
The single-story, three-bedroom house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, officials said. The home and its contents were destroyed, a loss estimated at $260,000, the spokesman said. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
