DIVISION I Bishop Amat (1) 38, Mission Viejo 0. Mike Smith threw for 91 yards and Rodney Sermons rushed for 64 to lead top-seeded Lancers (11-0) to an easy home victory over the Diablos (5-6). Mater Dei (10) 40, Crespi 0. Nicky Sualua rushed for 106 yards in 16 carries to lead the Monarchs (9-1-1) over the Celts (7-4). Fontana (4) 41, Littlerock 7. David Griffin rushed for 156 yards and Gary Tessitore passed for 163 yards andthree touchdowns for the Steelers (10-1). Loyola (6) 55, Palmdale 27. Jerome Porter rushed for 169 yards in 22 carries and scored three touchdowns for Loyola (10-1) in a game at Pierce College. *

DIVISION III Bell Gardens 13, Agoura 7. In overtime, Ricky Oropeza scored on a one-yard run to lift top-seeded Bell Gardens (10-1) to a home victory over Agoura (6-5). Simi Valley 26, Rowland 10. Eric Bennett threw four touchdowns and passed for 282 yards as the Pioneers (7-4) rallied for 26 unanswered points at Rowland (7-3-1). *

DIVISION IV Santa Margarita 28, Glendora 0. Running back Chris Tiernan scored on touchdown runs of six, two and 11 yards to lead the visiting Eagles (9-2) to a victory over the Tartans (5-5-1). Newport Harbor 31, Damien 0. Free safety Chris Hunter had three interceptions in the first half that ledto a field goal and two touchdowns as Newport Harbor (9-2) rolled to an easy victory. Corona del Mar 36, Chaminade 29. J.R. Walz, who rushed for 150 yards, scored the winning touchdown on a four-yard run with 50 seconds remaining for the visiting Sea Kings (7-3-1). *

DIVISION VI Anaheim 28, Walnut 0. Brian Diaz rushed for 157 yards in 30 carries to lead the Colonists (9-2) to an easy home victory over the Mustangs (8-3). Whittier 31, HH Wilson 0. The host Cardinals (10-1) scored all their points in the first half, including 21in the first quarter, in beating the Wildcats (5-6). Rosemead 29, Workman 13. Fullback Conan Riojas rushed for 124 yards in 23 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Rosemead (6-4) to an upset victory over Workman (9-2). Santa Fe 31, Los Altos 15. Quarterback Mark Kotsay ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and completed 11 of 22 passes for for 128 yards to lead Santa Fe (9-2) over Los Altos (8-3). *

DIVISION VII Garden Grove 30, Troy 16. Running back Jim Sebreros rushed for 217 yards in 28 carries and scored four touch downs to lead Garden Grove (5-6) to a victory over visiting Troy (5-5-1). Rancho Alamitos 57, Righetti 17. Rancho Alamitos (9-2) scored five touchdowns in the second half and rolledto an easy home victory over the Warriors (3-7). *

DIVISION VIII Trabuco Hills 21, Riv. Notre Dame 0. Quarterback Pat Barnes completed 12 of 23 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mustangs (10-1) to a home victory over the Titans (6-5). San Marino 26, Verbum Dei 7. Tailback Tom Moreland rushed for 101 yards in 17 carries and scored a two-yard touchdown as the Titans (8-2) defeated the Eagles (3-7-1). *

DIVISION X Whittier Christian 19, Yucca Valley 16. Aaron Meschuck rushed for 168 yards in 34 carries to lead the Heralds (8-3) to a home victory over the Trojans (6-5).

CITY SECTION

DIVISION 4-A Marshall 14, Granada Hills 7. Shane Gerard threw a five-yard scoring pass to Jeff Soto to break a 7-7 third-quarter tie and lift the visiting Barristers (9-2) to an upset victory. Van Nuys 28, Westchester 27. Efrain Martinez threw a touchdown pass, recovered two fumbles and kicked four extra points to lead visiting Van Nuys (7-4) to a victory over Westchester (9-1-1). Jefferson 19, San Fernando 16. Marc Harris scored on a 74-yard run and Tyrone Morse intercepted two passes in the final three minutes for Jefferson (7-3-1). Sylmar (14) 49, Venice 7. Tyrone Crenshaw rushed for 317 yards and three touchdowns to lead the top-seeded Spartans (10-0) at home. *

DIVISION 3-A Bell 26, North Hollywood 0. William Mendez, substituting for Bobby Sullivan, rushed for 119 yards in 23 carries to lead the top-seeded Eagles (10-1) over the Huskies (5-6). San Pedro 30, Grant 0. The Pirates (9-1-1) scored on their first three possessions and limited visitingGrant (3-7-1) to minus-six yards offense. Palisades 29, Reseda 17. The Dolphins (8-2) scored all their points in the third quarter to overcome a 17-0 halftime deficit. Fremont 20, Canoga Park 12. William Yates threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score for the visiting Pathfinders (4-7). Taft 21, Manual Arts 14. Mike Ferguson passed for 137 yards for the Toreadors (7-4) and scored on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter to break a 14-14 tie.
