DOUBLE VISION: Double-video releases seem to be a trend in hard-rock circles these days. Even before Guns N’ Roses’ pair of concert videos arrive Dec. 8, Metallica has released two videos: “A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica,” parts 1 and 2.
Part 1 focuses on the making of last year’s “Metallica” album and includes video clips from that collection, while Part 2 includes jam sessions as well as backstage and concert footage from the band’s stadium tour with Guns N’ Roses.
Part 2 is being put out in “edited” and “unedited” versions. The problem isn’t apparently nudity or violence, but a roadie making a vulgar comment. The band insisted on releasing the “unedited” version, but Elektra Video apparently was afraid some stores wouldn’t carry it, making an edited version necessary.
