OUTLOOK

Anderson is trying to be optimistic about his team’s prospects, but he’s not having an easy time. He doesn’t have a returning starter, a player over 6-foot or a decent outside shooter. So what does that leave? “We’re going to press and hawk the ball on defense and be patient on offense,” Anderson said. “A hundred percent of the time we’ll be end to end on defense. “We won’t let anybody dribble up the court unguarded.” Nelson and Huynh are Santiago’s best hopes to put the ball in the basket and Boc is a solid defender. “Our strength is our guards,” Anderson said. “Our biggest weakness is our scoring. I can’t see anybody shooting over 50% or scoring more than 12 points a game.” Going into the season, Anderson said he was planning to play only six or seven people. If Anderson wins more than three league games, he should be considered for coach of the year.
