Marty McSorley scored his third goal of the season with 41 seconds left in the third period Sunday night as the Kings salvaged a 2-2 tie with the Mighty Ducks at the Forum.

Moments after the Kings pulled goalie Grant Fuhr for a sixth attacker, McSorley converted Yanic Perreault’s pass from beind the net for his first goal since Feb. 7 at St. Louis.

It was the second stinging blow McSorley had dealt the Ducks in their last two meetings. On April 9 at the Pond of Anaheim, McSorley gave Duck defenseman Bobby Dollas a vicious elbow to the face with less than a minute to play, causing Dollas to miss the next two games because of a concussion.

The tie extended Anaheim’s unbeaten streak against the Kings to six games since they lost their first four meetings last season.

Wayne Gretzky, who was presented with a silver plate by the Kings before the game in commemoration of his 2,500th NHL point last Monday night at Calgary, did not get a shot on goal against the Ducks until about 9 1/2 minutes remained in the third period.

Shaun Van Allen and Patrik Carnback scored the tying and go-ahead goals three minutes apart to give the Ducks a 2-1 lead in the second period.

Guy Hebert stopped 24 of 26 shots by the Kings, who have scored nine goals in seven games.
