Album Reviews
** Dwight Yoakam, “Dwight Live,” Reprise. Live albums fall into two camps: magical performances or greatest-hits collections with applause. Applause far outweighs magic in this 1994 San Francisco concert. Of 17 songs, only two aren’t available in studio versions, and, while the band strikes some sparks, Yoakam sounds as if he’s singing most for the umpteenth time. For die-hards only.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
