Shots in Santa Ana Kill 1, Wound 3
A shootout Thursday night that appeared to be gang-related left one person dead and three others wounded, police said.
The shooting in the 3000 block of West Brook Street occurred shortly after 8 p.m., said Lt. Jose Garcia. When police arrived, they found one male victim fatally wounded in the street and three other people with gunshot wounds. The most seriously wounded person died at the scene. One of the wounded, a 45-year-old man, was in serious condition at UCI Medical Center. A juvenile wounded in the gunfire was in stable condition at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. It was not immediately known where the third injured person was taken.
The names of the victims were not immediately available, and no arrests had been made.
Police and gang units were investigating the shooting late into the night, Garcia said.
