ALBUM REVIEWS / POP
*** Silk, “Silk,” Elektra. Keith Sweat discovered this Atlanta-based quintet and produced its debut album, which sold in the millions. Rather than go with Sweat for its sophomore effort, Silk has broken ranks. Tracks such as “Hooked on You” and “I Can Go Deep” are exceptionally smooth, though they lack that edge of personality needed to distinguish Silk from all the other boudoir B-boys on the charts.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (e x cellent).
