Teams that give up four home runs and make four errors in one game have no business being in those games.

Well, the JetHawks should be out of business, because they did just that on Wednesday night in an 8-7 victory over the San Bernardino Stampede before 3,765 fans.

Shane Monahan singled home two runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the score and pinch-hitter James Clifford’s sacrifice fly drove in the winning run.

The JetHawks took a one-run lead into the eighth, but Todd Niemeier gave up a game-tying solo home run to Cliff Anderson.

Tom Szimanski (1-1) relieved Niemeier and struck out the first batter before two consecutive singles and an error by JetHawk right fielder Jesus Marquez allowed a run to score. The Stampede took a 7-5 lead on a sacrifice fly.

The JetHawks loaded the bases with none out in the first but managed just one run against Dennis Reyes, who came into the game fourth in the league with an 0.88 earned-run average.

Doubles by Shawn Buhner and Dusty Wathan put the JetHawks ahead, 3-2. Marcus Sturdivant singled home Wathan to make it 4-2.

Marino Santana gave up four runs in six innings, including home runs by Scott Richardson, Kyle Cooney and Tito Landrum.
